Earlier Schedule Set
HOUSTON, TEXAS—August 22, 2024—As Quilts, Inc. prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of International Quilt Festival and 45th of International Quilt Market in a couple of months, the company has already announced dates for the 2025 fall editions of both shows.
Quilt Market will take place October 4-6, 2025 (with Schoolhouse/Sample Spree on October 3), and Quilt Festival will be held from October 9-12, 2025 (with Preview Night on October 8 and classes/events beginning on October 6).
These dates are earlier than the shows have been traditionally held on the calendar. Both will continue to take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in the company’s hometown of Houston, Texas.
“While we’re very focused on our anniversary shows this year and producing the best trade and consumer experiences possible, we’re also always looking to the future,” says Quilts, Inc. President and CEO Karey Bresenhan, also the Director Emeritus of both events. “And scheduling the shows earlier at least answers one request I’ve heard over the years. Now, everyone can be home for Halloween!”
Ruth Moya, Vice President of Shows and Show Director, noted that while this change may not be permanent, today’s announcement gives plenty of advance notice for attendees, exhibitors, and instructors to adjust their traditional schedules. Plans are still underway to hold a Spring 2025 Quilt Market in a city being determined now.
“We got a lot of feedback about our shows, and we take it all into consideration when finalizing plans. We listen to everyone and every comment,” she offers. “And I just look at it this way—our quilting family gets to see each other even sooner than ever before from the previous year!”
