Quilts, Inc. names three new Vice Presidents

HOUSTON—April 24, 2018—Karey Bresenhan, President and CEO of Quilts, Inc., has announced
the promotion of three long-serving staff members to newly-created positions of Vice Presidents
 within the company.

“All three of them are highly qualified and have shown leadership, drive, and excellent work in each of
their specialized fields and departments,” Bresenhan says. “And they are the right people to help move Quilts, Inc. and our shows—International Quilt Market and International Quilt Festival—into the future.
I am excited to see what plans they come up with.”

Teresa Duggan has been promoted to Vice President of Resource Development. She will be working directly with sponsor companies, as well as developing new aspects and activities for the shows. She also oversees the Special Exhibits Department, which is responsible for gathering and organizing all of the display quilts and art objects at the shows. Duggan has been with Quilts, Inc. since 1997.

Ruth Polanco has been promoted to Vice President of Shows and Show Director. She is responsible for activity and organization on the show floor, exhibitor relations, show planning and finances, site inspection, and is the direct liaison with host hotels, CVBs, convention centers, and show decorators. She oversees the Show Operations Department. Polanco has been with Quilts, Inc. since 2001.

Bob Ruggiero has been promoted to Vice President of Communications. He is responsible for media relations, show marketing, and all printed catalogs, programs, and other materials. He oversees the Publications & Public Information Department, which handles all of the company’s social media, online publications, website, and publicity/marketing efforts. Ruggiero has been with Quilts, Inc. since 1996.

All three will also continue to serve on the Quilts, Inc. Executive Committee, led and directed

by Bresenhan and Executive Vice President Nancy O’Bryant Puentes.

“This is a challenging time for our industry and Quilt Market and Quilt Festival, but also an exciting time with a lot of new possibilities,” Bresenhan sums up. “And I know our new Vice Presidents will take the challenge I have given them and run with it.”
